On behalf of our large Greensboro church family, welcome! We recognize it can be daunting to find a new church community. No matter what your faith background, we can't wait to help you get connected. We hope the information on this page will help you feel at home on Sunday mornings at Westminster.
come as you are
You will see everything from shorts and flip-flops to suits and ties. The most important thing to us is your presence, not your presentation.
The main entrance to our Sanctuary faces Friendly Avenue. In front of this entrance, you will notice a circle drive with a limited number of handicapped and special needs spaces for those who may need to be closer to the main doors. Otherwise, we invite you to park in the lot accessible from Westminster Drive. There you will find additional handicapped spaces and reserved visitor parking.
The entrance from our parking lot will lead you to the foyer in front of our Fellowship Hall. To find the Sanctuary, go up the stairs, take a sharp left and follow the path back outside and to the front entrance. You may also take the elevator which is located across from the stairs. To find the Chapel, take a right at the top of the stairs and follow the hall until you dead end at the Chapel doors.
Our 11am worship service is led by a pastor and the Westminster Chancel Choir accompanied by the organ. Various musicians and vocalists are featured in the service with songs from the Presbyterian Hymnal. This service lasts approximately one hour, and we provide a bulletin to help guide you through the service.
Our 9:30am worship service blends contemporary music (piano, acoustic guitars, bass, percussion and vocalists) with a message. Music is drawn from a variety of sources including traditional hymns, contemporary christian, rock, folk and bluegrass. A pastor and our Worship Band lead each service.
Our contemporary service lasts about one hour, and we provide a bulletin to help guide you through the service.
We meet in the Fellowship Hall (on the lower level) in between services for refreshments. This is a casual opportunity to meet new people, socialize, and ask questions about Westminster.
We offer professional child care every Sunday (newborns—two years old) in order to provide a safe, fun, and nurturing environment while you enjoy Church School and worship. You can find the nursery on the lower level of our Friendly Avenue Campus in Room 113.
Children are always welcome during worship or may also attend Church School after the Welcoming the Children (a brief time during worship for children to hear a lesson just for them from the pastor). Click below to learn more about all the ways your child can grow in faith at Westminster.
Our youth meet every Sunday morning in Room 100 at 11am and lead worship once a month. Click below learn more about our large Greensboro youth group.
We have several Church School opportunities on Sunday mornings in conjunction with worship. Click below to learn about our Sunday morning classes and other small group opportunities.
