Dear Westminster family,
I’m thrilled to begin my role as Director of Community Connections on May 12th, and honored to have this opportunity. Though my family officially joined WPC in 2018, my connection to Westminster began in 2009 when my dad, Butch, started working here.
Chris and I lived in Charlotte from 2006–2018, where we eventually joined Covenant Presbyterian—where former WPC pastor Bob Henderson serves. Both of our boys were baptized here at WPC, and when we moved back to Greensboro, "finding a church" was by far the easiest decision we got to make!
Since 2018, we’ve been deeply involved in the life of the church—through worship, children’s ministry, Faith Formation, committees, and softball. The friendships we’ve found here are invaluable, and I’m passionate about helping others—especially visitors and new members—find that same sense of belonging.
With a Sociology degree from the College of Charleston (go Cougars!), post-grad work in early childhood education, and nearly 20 years in the nonprofit and healthcare sectors (AmeriCorps, Habitat for Humanity, Levine Children’s Hospital, Family Support Network of Central Carolina), I feel ready to contribute to Westminster’s impactful work.
I look forward to getting to know you all better and helping extend the warmth and welcome that make this community so special. With God’s guidance and your support, I know great things are ahead.
Meredith Spaugh
