Mission.
Westminster is a Christ-centered community of faith that prayerfully seeks God's direction as we provide opportunities for spiritual growth and expression through worship, education and servanthood, responding with God's love and compassion to the needs of the world.
Where do you belong?
With a congregation of 2,000 plus members it is sometimes difficult to find where you can share your time or talents. If you want to get more involved but aren't sure just how or where, there are people eager to meet with you one-on-one to help you discover the places that are just right for you.
If you would like to talk with someone about discovering what these opportunities are, please call the church office at (336) 299-3785 and we'd be happy to discuss the many ways you can plug into the life of the church.
Our History. Our Future.
Westminster is more than 120 years old. The church started as a small mission chapel in Greensboro. Westminster's congregation continues to grow each year in both attendance and in number of services so while a congregation of 2,000 seems large, most services have an intimacy from 100 to 350 people in attendance.
Under the leadership of the Rev. Robert. W. Henderson, in the period from 1993-2002, Westminster has more than tripled its membership from 486 a the outset of 1993 to about 1,895 at the close of 2006.
The same years have been marked by the introduction of contemporary worship services starting January 1997, an increase in the number of worship services, a dramatic increase in the church's outreach endeavors, and expanded youth programs. In 2005, we launch our first multi-site campus service in northwest Greensboro, NC., In 2007, the campus moved to Lake Brandt Road and continues to thrive. Read more about our history.
While we rejoice at our growing congregation, we are committed to building and maintaining relationships with its members and the community, both local and worldwide. There are many programs to volunteer, join, or participate. Come explore the many opportunities you have for spiritual growth, expression, education, servanthood and compassion to the needs of the world.
