Making connections

Connect

How can I connect at Westminster?

We have a whole ministry that is dedicated to helping you connect in the church, make friends, and feel welcome. Congregational Connections Ministry helps to encourage and empowers members and visitors to become all that God created them to be.

For information on how you can become involved at Westminster, contact Suzanne Andia, Director of Fellowship at 299-3785, ext. 130.

Discovering and Connecting the Faith Newcomer's Class in June

A three-week class designed for newcomers to Westminster will be offered on Sunday mornings, November 13, 20 and 27th from 8:15 am to 9:15 am in the Friendly Avenue campus Fellowship Hall. Contact Mark Brainerd or Suzanne Andia in the church office for more information.

This class will allow participants to become more familiar with Westminster, its ministries and its people. Topic will include the core beliefs of our faith as Presbyterians, as well as ways to become connected to programs and opportunities for leaning, serving, fellowship and worship. The class will be facilitated by pastors and church members. Whether you are a new member, long- or short-time visitor, all are welcome to attend.

Find Your Place to Serve

The Find Your Place booklet is filled with more than 100 ways you can use your gifts and talents; explore your interests at Westminster in the community and in other countries. You can sign up online to indicate the ways you would like to get connected in the life of the church.

If you are new to Westminster, we invite you to take all the time you need to discover if you want this to be your spiritual home. Take a look at our Newcomer's Guide or read "What every member wished they knew when they first visited."

The size of a church really depends on what type of church you are used to attending. No matter if you think Westminster is big or small, the best way to get connected is to start with getting to know a few people at a time. We encourage you to try a small group or you can form a small group with people from your neighborhood or at work.

A church community extends beyond the pews and chairs. In addition to service projects and learning opportunities, take time to enjoy several of our church life activities such as a movie night, an overnight trip, or a church dinner.
