Inclement Weather Policy

Westminster-LogoPack_teal.png

The safety of our congregation, staff, volunteers, and guests is our highest priority. Weather conditions can vary widely across our area, and we encourage everyone to use their best judgment when deciding whether it is safe to travel to campus.

Worship Services

When inclement weather or unsafe conditions may impact regularly scheduled worship services, decisions regarding whether to hold, modify, or cancel services are made by the Staff and Pastors after assessing current conditions and safety considerations.

If adjustments are necessary, changes may include a modified schedule, reduced programming, or a shift to online worship. When possible, updates will be shared even if services are not canceled.

Other Church Activities

Decisions regarding classes, meetings, rehearsals, and other church activities are made on a case-by-case basis. Ministry leaders will communicate directly with participants if changes are necessary.

Outside Groups

The safety of our community is a priority at Westminster Presbyterian Church. During inclement weather, outside groups that meet in our facilities are responsible for monitoring conditions and determining whether it is safe to gather.

Outside groups may choose to meet at their own risk as long as the building remains open and power is available. Group leaders are responsible for communicating with their members regarding cancellations, delays, or changes to meeting plans.

Westminster Presbyterian Church does not assume responsibility for travel conditions, personal safety, or weather-related incidents. If weather conditions require the church to close the building or power is unavailable, all activities will be canceled.

Outside groups should refer to the church website for the most current information, including building status updates and full inclement weather details.

Communications

When weather-related changes occur, updates will be shared as soon as possible through:

  • The church website

  • Email

  • Social media

If no update is posted, scheduled activities will proceed as planned.

In all cases, we ask that you use your personal discretion to determine whether conditions are safe for you to attend.

We appreciate your flexibility and care for one another as we prioritize safety and well-being.
