Children's Ministry

Our children are led in many ways by adults and youth who are visible examples of God’s love. The children are nurtured through faith formation, worship, missions, activities, trips, camp, play, and fellowship. These experiences offer our children a chance to wonder, to question, and to explore their faith. Spiritual practices and Bible stories help build a foundation for faith as children begin to discover who God has created them to be.

Worship
We encourage ALL children to attend worship services. We want them to experience the joy and wonder of worship! Our weekly service includes a time for children. In addition, our 3rd – 5th graders may serve in worship as acolytes. Acolytes light the Christ candle at the beginning of worship to represent God’s presence among us. For information about being an acolyte, please contact Laura Alexander.

FAITH FORMATION (Sundays, 10-10:50am | Room 106)
We use Godly Play to help our children learn stories from the Bible and grow in their relationship with God. Godly Play offers a creative, child-honoring way of entering into and experiencing Biblical stories. Children who are PreK (4 years old) - 5th grade should be dropped off in Room 106
at 10am on Sunday mornings. After our Godly Play story, children will be escorted to their classrooms:

  • PreK – 3rd grade in Room 111

  • 4th – 5th grade in Room 107

If you are interested in attending an adult class after you drop off your child, we hope you’ll join The Gathering in Room 103. This class is especially for parents of younger youth and children.  For more information about adult classes, visit Adult Faith.

Nursery
We provide nursery care on Sunday mornings in Room 113 for babies and children up to 3 years old. Our nursery is staffed by experienced, loving caregivers.

Outreach Outrageous
Outrageous Outreach is an outreach and fellowship group for our 4th-5th graders. We meet each month during the school year for a time of learning, growing and digging deeper. We will participate in several outreach projects throughout the school year. Details for each event will be under upcoming events and in the weekly enews.

Join us as we gather for fun games & snacks for our final meeting of the school year. (Outrageous Outreach is for children in 4th and 5th grade)

Join us in Hometown Nazareth, where we’ll explore what life was like when Jesus was a kid. You’ll craft cool projects in the Marketplace, laugh as you play Bible-themed games, visit with Jesus’ mom, Mary, and eat foods just like the ones that Jesus ate. Plus, you’ll meet lots of new friends!

Pizza In The Park

Sunday, April 21, 2024

12:15 PM 2:00 PM

Come on over to Cascade Park after worship on April 21st from 12:15-2:00 for some pizza, playground time and community building. It’s a great opportunity to get outside, engage our childlike-ness (which should be easy for the kiddos) and maybe meet some neighbors. No agenda—just fun, food and fellowship.

JAMS (JUNIOR ARTS AND MUSIC ON SUNDAYS)
JAMS is a program during the school year that engages kids in singing, drama, movement, percussion and more! If you are interested in learning more, contact Clint Whitlow.

PASSPORT is a 4-day summer camp empowering completed 3rd thru 5th grade students to encounter Christ, embrace community and extend grace to the world. Our goal is for kids to experience laughter and fun, God’s love, self-esteem boosts, a safe community, and compassion for their neighbors. We’ll have worship, small group activities, lots of recreation (some of it messy), a global night market, good food and a variety show. This is a great opportunity to learn, grow and play as lives are changed for the better.
A $200 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration (March 3rd deadline). Trip balance is due by April 28th. Click HERE for an Informational Video.
