Emergency Housing Network Volunteers

Representatives from six local refugee and immigrant assistance agencies and 13 local congregations, including Westminster, met recently about forming an Emergency Housing Network for refugees and immigrants. These meetings, convened by FaithAction International House, have outlined the dire need for emergency housing for this population and the reasons why. Currently, the Network is establishing a list of emergency housing options within places of worship, congregants’ homes, attached or detached apartments, in-law suites, rental property, etc. The time frame for emergency housing would be no more than three months and a memo or understanding would be established between all parties including a case management agency. If you would like to learn more or have resources to offer, please contact Ann Comfort.
