In the poorest country in the Western hemisphere, we strive to serve as the hands and feet of Christ. We partner with Family Health Ministries, a Durham-based organization that supports Haitian communities in their efforts to build and sustain healthy families.
Many Haiti team members describe their experience on this mission trip as transformational. Witnessing the warmth, faith and persistence of the Haitian people in the face of tremendous obstacles leaves a deep impression.
Be ready to be changed.
Most trips include about 12 people, with a minimum of four medical providers, ideally nurses, family nurse practitioners and doctors. EMTs, specialists and non-medical people can also serve. The trip includes four days of work in a clinic in Port-au-Prince as well as the chance to visit the rural Fondwa community, where Family Health Ministries supports a school and an orphanage.
