Partnership Village
Christmas is a joyous time, but for some it’s hard to be joyful when resources are limited. Westminster is currently sponsoring36 families from the Partnership Village community. Formerly known as “Christmas Families” this ministry has expanded its' mission beyond the Christmas holiday by additionally providing families in need with back-to-school supplies and Thanksgiving dinner. You are invited to participate in several ways:
Family Partner - volunteer to be a family partner. Establish a relationship with one of the families and join them in celebrating back to school with the distribution of back to school supplies; providing a meal at Thanksgiving (meal prepared by Harris Teeter); and celebrating Christmas with the family by participation in the Greensboro Faith Christmas Store.
Back to School - donate back to school supplies during August in designated containers at both campuses. Take advantage of the NC Sales Tax Holiday to purchase needed items for the school supply drive for Partnership Village. Items needed are backpack, pencils, glue stick, erasers, highlighters, markers, rulers, 16-count crayons, spiral notebooks, lined paper, index cards, pocket folders and pens. Place items in the collection boxes at either campus by Sunday, August 7.
Angel Trees – choose an angel gift item, and after purchasing, bring your unwrapped gift (be sure to attach Angel Tag to gift) and place under the trees or in the designated collection containers. Angel Trees will be in the Sanctuary,Chapel and at the Lake Brandt campus beginning with Advent.
Monetary Assistance – Financial contributions help provide our families with Thanksgiving meals and back-to-school supplies, as well as supplement Christmas gifts. Checks can be made to Westminster Presbyterian, earmarked Partnership Village Families.
