Find opportunities to serve in our church, in our community, in the U.S. and in the world now. Support Our Outreach Work. In addition to your prayers, there are other ways you can support our outreach efforts. We raise money for outreach throughout the year—from the mission auction every spring to the ongoing Amani Bead ministry to occasional collections of goods for teams to transport with them.

Ushers and Greeters are the faces of Westminster to our guests, visitors, and members.  The first Sunday of each month is intergenerational Sunday and families are encouraged to serve together. Children or Youth who want to usher or collect the offering are asked to be in the narthex 20 minutes before the service. Older children can help separate the Worship Cards, envelopes, and money too.

This year, our church community is collecting boxes of macaroni and cheese that will help stock the GUM food pantry. Next time you go grocery shopping, put an extra box of macaroni and cheese in your grocery cart and deposit it in the collection bins at either campus.

Westminster provides lunch five Saturdays a year for all volunteers building Greensboro Habitat homes.  On our assigned dates, Westminster volunteers are needed to help prepare lunch at the Friendly Avenue campus from 9:30-10:45 am and deliver to the work site from 10:45-noon.  Please watch the bulletin announcements for our upcoming dates.

The first Wednesday and second Monday of each month Westminster volunteers deliver nutritious noontime meals to homebound senior adults age 60 and over through the Mobile Meals Program. To be eligible, the seniors must be unable to prepare a meal for themselves or have no one available to assist them. The volunteers also check on the well-being of each senior they visit.

The beaming faces of Westminster’s children passing the blue buckets for our quarterly Pennies for Hunger offering are not easily forgotten! Since 1989, Salem Presbytery has distributed nearly $2.2 million to feed the hungry as a result of these Presbytery-wide collections.
