Alternative Giving
The Alternative Giving Sale was held Saturday, December 4, 2010 in the Fellowship Hall at Friendly Avenue Campus.
Honor Cards are sold at the Alternative Giving Sale as well as throughout the Advent season. Cards may also be purchased after the sale in the church office and during Fellowship Time. Honor Cards are like Christmas Cards, but money used for the cards goes directly to the the card's charity. Charities like Heifer International, Greensboro Urban Ministry, and Habitat for Humanity have specially-designed cards. Christmas is all about giving, exemplified by God's incredible gift to us in Jesus. One of the great joys of the season is having the opportunity to give to family and friends through Westminster's Alternative Giving ministry. Whether it is the purchase of a pig from Heifer Project, sponsoring a kitchen sink for Habitat, buying a beautiful craft from Kenya, or making a donation in a loved one's name in support of one of several non-profit agencies in Greensboro, this Westminster tradition helps keep the focus on the reason for the season.
