Youth Mission Trips

Below are listed our 2010 Youth Mission trips.  We seek to provide a variety of mission trips each year.   For more information, contact Alice Blalock, at alice.blalock@westpreschurch.org. 

2010 Mission Trips

DOOR (Developing Opportunities for Outreach and Reflection) Network Project, Atlanta, GA

• Sunday, June 27 - Friday, July 2, for rising 7th & 8th graders
• We'll be working in teams of 4-6 participants through various projects in the Atlanta area, such as interacting with homeless people at shelters & soup kitchens, making and delivering meals for homebound AIDS and cancer patients, working at summer day camps for children in economically impoverished neighborhoods, and other such projects. 
• Accomodations will be on air mattresses at Central Presbyterian Church, located in the heart of downtown Atlanta.
• Cost: $275 and working on the Building Missions Auction 2010.

   

Global Passport at Heifer Ranch , Perryville, AR

• Sunday, June 20 - Saturday,June 26, for rising 9th - high school graduates
• We will experience surviving in substandard living conditions - an existence in which nothing can be taken for granted, including shelter, food, water, and firewood.   We will need to provide for our family group by tending gardens and livestock, working in the village community, buying supplies from the international market and cooking cultural meals using appropriate technology.   Your understanding of the world and your place in it will change forever.
• Accomodations will be representative of homes in developing countries, such as a Tibetan yurt.
• Cost: $325 and working on the Building Missions Auction 2010.

Youth Kenya Mission Trip

• Tuesday, July 13 - Tuesday, July 27 for 11th & 12th graders
• Applications were taken in fall 2009 and this trip is currently full.
• Teens will work in New Life Homes and the schools supported by the Presbyterian Church of East Africa.

Blessed to Bless, Westminster's Youth Band Missions Concert was an exciting evening on May 31 of worship and fellowship.   Many thanks to those who joined us in our efforts raising more than $2600 for Westminster's Missions!
