Children
Westminster is a great place to grow up. The nurseries have caring, loving arms waiting to hold your youngest ones during worship or during other church-sponsored events. Our preschoolers begin to explore what is God. The elementary school children continue to explore their relationship with God while learning about the Bible, Church, and what a church family means.
Parenting at the Crossroads - NEW for Winter 2012!! Youth & Children's Ministries present a series of workshops for parents regarding drugs, sex, faith, discipline and the internet. Brochures also available in the church office. Topics to include:

- What Every Parent Needs to Know about Drugs - Click here to sign up
- Sexuality Seminar for Parents

Outreach Opportunities for our Children

Did you know there are children in Greensboro who are hungry on the weekends? An innovative way to address this need is by sending select students home on Friday afternoons with a backpack full of canned and non-perishable food items. Westminster is collecting small (no glass) containers of the following items to help fill these backpacks: canned chicken & tuna; peanut butter; macaroni and cheese; beans; canned fruit and vegetables; canned ravioli, spaghetti and soup; individual packets of oatmeal, grits, or cream of wheat; granola bars; cheese crackers; pasta; canned pasta sauce. Place your items in the collection bins at either campus.

Outrageous Outreach - Our fellowship and mission group for our 4th and 5th graders will do a PENNY EXCHANGE on Sunday, February 26, 4-5:30 at the Friendly Campus. Come discover just what IS a Penny Exchange!! This is in preparation for our Pennies for Hunger collection in March.
Come. Explore. Grow.
Children learn in different ways so Christian values and themes are taught in a variety of forms -- through songs, dramas, computer games, movies, crafts, and doing acts of service for others. Children are welcome in all of our church services where the ministers take time during the service to sit with them on the Chancel for a short sermon message or they can attend age-appropriate church classes or Children's Worship.
Some of the spiritual journey celebrations offered are:
- Preschoolers – Attend preschool (age 3-5) Vacation Bible School (if potty-trained)
- Kindergartners – Attend Vacation Bible School and can join Cherub Choir.
- First Graders – Worship Readiness Training. Children explore the sanctuary, organ, learn the parts of worship, make communion bread and celebrate communion with their parents at Saturday evening worship following class. Attend elementary Vacation Bible School and can join Cherub Choir.
- Second Graders – Worship Readiness Training. Children explore the sanctuary, organ, learn the parts of worship, make communion bread and celebrate communion with their parents at Saturday evening worship following class. Attend elementary Vacation Bible School and can join Junior Choir.
- Third Graders – Receive their own Bibles in September. Attend Music Camp, Vacation Bible School and can join Junior Choir.
- Fourth & Fifth Graders – Do monthly service projects as part of Outrageous Outreach (OO) . They have a week of Outrageous Outreach during Vacation Bible School and can attend Music Camp. Passport Kids (sleep-away camp) is offered in the summer.
