Westminster on Wednesday Classes

Westminster Studies, the adult mid-week short courses offered in both the Fall and Winter. These 5- to 10-week classes will be on a variety of topics. There also are classes and activities for children and youth offered at the same time. Start the evening off with a meal in the Fellowship Hall at 5:45 p.m.

Below is a sampling of what was offered this past Winter Session:

Praying with St. Luke

A fresh Bible Study class that will look at what it means to pray Jesus' "Model Prayer" from Luke's perspective. Dr. Richard Vinson, Professor of New testament at Baptist Theological seminary in Richmond, VA, will be back with us for these five weeks as we look at how Jesus taught us to pray.

The Blessing of a Skinned Knee

A great parenting class class on the book by Wendy Mogel, a clinical psychologist and Jewish educator. Dr. Mogel distills Old Testament Jewish teachings into nine blessings that address key parenting issues. If you would like for your children to grow up as responsible, self-reliant, optimistic, and well-mannered people, come and join Sally Royster as she leads the discussion of this wonderful book.

Understanding Memory Loss, Dementia, and Alzheimer's Disease

A repeat of the extremely popular and helpful class from last Fall, led by Heather McKay, occupational therapist and dementia care and education specialist. this is a unique opportunity to understand more about these health conditions and how to support the care for both patients and caregivers.

Inshallah: The Epitome of Life in the Middle East

Greensboro resident Annaliese Witzky worked for the the King and Queen of Jordan in Amman for three years as Her Majesty's Aide de camp and later as their personal liaison in Washington. she will share her "unexpected life-changing experience" with us as we discuss the role of royalty, culture and religion in the Middle Ease. This calls will provide us with a unique opportunity to learn more about the people and culture of this part of the world. Ms. Witzky will help us to better understand the concept of "inshallah," or "God willing" and better relate to people and perspectives so vital to our world and international relations.
