Church School

We are delighted to have five regularly scheduled opportunities for children's education at church.   Nursery care is available for infants and toddlers during all worship services.

This year Westminster is using an excellent new curriculum called “Feasting on the Word.” The lectionary based curriculum and resources will used weekly to inform our worship services, small group discussions and our children’s and youth ministries. Feasting on the Word provides reflections, activities and conversations that help a congregation encounter each other and God through the rhythm of the Revised Common Lectionary. More information is available at the Feasting on the Word website.   The hope is that in any given week, any family attending worship and/or church school will have experienced the same themes and possibly scripture passages in their time of worship and learning at church.

Lake Brandt Campus

Sundays @ 9:30 a.m. Children age Kindergarten through 5th grade are invited to attend a portion of worship with their families. Following the Children's Message during the service, the children will leave the Sanctuary and be led to their appropriate-age classrooms. Nursery and preschool care provided during the entire service. 

 

Friendly Avenue Campus

Saturday @ 6 p.m.

Nursery care provided during worship for children 0-4 years old.  Following the children’s time in worship, children Kindergarten – 5th grade may be escorted to Room 106 for Church School.  

Sunday @ 9:30 a.m.

Nursery care provided during worship for children newborn to 2-years-old in rooms 110, 111, 113 Church School Classrooms:

• Sheep 2-year-old and 3-year-old - Room 105
• Fish 3-year-old and 4 - Room 103
• Angels 4-year-old and 5-year-old - Room 101
• Kindergarten - Room 107
• 1st Grade - Room 102
• 2nd Grade - Room 108
• 3rd Grade - Room 106
• 4th & 5th Grade - Room 104

Sunday @ 11 a.m.

• Nursery care provided for children 0-2 in rooms 110 and 111.
• Angelfish/Preschool 3-year-old, 4-year-old , 5-year-old - Room 103 - Church School
• Kindergarten thru 3rd Grade - Room 106 - Church School
• 4th & 5th Grade - Room 201 - Church School

Our Winter session of W.E.L.L is underway!   On Wednesday evenings we have music, fellowship and Bible study for our children.   Our children will be learning about "Those Animals Have Such Character," Bible sotries of particular animals, the role they play in the stories, AND character and characteristics they might represent for us today.   Our new schedule for 2012 will be:

5:30 - 6 pm - Dinner with your family (click here to make your dinner reservation)

6-6:45 pm - Choirs

6:45 -7:30 pm - Bible Study

Special programming is available for children PK and younger (6:30 -7:30 pm) and childcare is available for children not in choir but wanting to be a part of the Bible Study at 6:45. 

Outrageous Outreach
