Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry offers one-to-one care-giving, allowing God to work through Stephen Ministers to plant the seed of hope and healing in a person whose life seems barren and forlorn because of some crisis or tragedy. Stephen Ministers are trained members equipped to offer support; they listen, pray, explore feelings, share Christ's love, maintain confidentiality, attend to the care-giving process and leave the results to God. Stephen Ministers care for those who are grieving, suffering a crisis, in need of long-term care, dying, hospitalized, divorcing, or experiencing loss or crisis at any age, in any situation.

Westminster will offer Stephen Ministry Training on Thursday evenings this fall, beginning Thursday, September 16 from 6:30 – 9 pm. A Stephen Minister is a Christian caregiver who listens and supports someone who is going through a difficult time. The 50 hours of training equips participants with the skills and dispositions needed to be effective Stephen Ministers. For applications or more information, please contact Tom Loughlin at etl704@yahoo.com or Suzanne Nazim at galbeam@triad.rr.com.
