Swine Flu (H1N1 virus)
From the Center for Disease Control (CDC) web site:
"This is a rapidly evolving situation and current guidance and other web content may contain variations in how this new H1N1 virus of swine origin is referred to.
Over the coming days and weeks, these inconsistencies will be addressed, but in the interests of meeting the agency's response goals, all guidance will remain posted and new guidance will continue to be issued."
For updates from the CDC on the H1N1 virus, go to http://www.cdc.gov/swineflu/
As with this virus or any other virus, precautions should be taken. By signing in on your Worship Response Care and ensuring the church office has your updated contact information, the church can contact you if this or any other confirmed health outbreak is reported to the church.
Free Blood Pressure Screenings
The Health Team offers monthly blood-pressure screenings to the congregation. Screenings are offered after each services on the weekend of the 3rd Sunday of the month. They also have been present at the Summer Kickoff offering free water. In the past, the team has coordinated flu shot vaccinations.
February Blood Drive Results
Westminster held a Blood Drive with the American Red Cross on February 1, 2010. We collected 45 units of blood - just under our 50 units quota - but we appreciate all those who came out on a snowy day. Learn what a unit of blood can be used for to help others. Next blood drive will be August 23, 2010, 2:30 - 5 pm in the Fellowship Hall.
