Our Next Steps
On June 20, 2011, John McCall was called to return to the Asian Mission field and Westminster is beginning the steps of calling a new senior pastor and head of staff. The Presbyterian denomination has outlined the following as the list of steps or procedures in selecting a Pastor/Head of Staff:

A congregational meeting is called to vote to concur with the pastor's request to dissolve the pastoral relationship. The congregational meeting was held the weekend of July 9 & 10.

A transition team is formed to provide guidance during the time of change. The Transition Team is Jean Camp, Lynn Gagnier, Brian Lunsford, Rick Mascia, Ron Simpson, Lori Tucker and Anne Vaughan.

Transition Committee selects Interim Pastor/Head of Staff. The Session approved The Rev. Bill Waterstradt to serve as Interim Head Pastor. His first day will be November 7.

Interim Pastor and Transition Team conducts Mission Study to discover Westminster’s future vision. |

Members are elected to a Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC).

The PNC completes a Church Information Form describing the position to be filled. |

The PNC receives candidates’ Personal Information Form that match the selection criteria in Westminster’s Church Information Form. The PNC also may gather candidate names from members of the congregation, friends, Salem Presbytery, and other Presbyteries.

The PNC interviews candidates and selects a person for Head of Staff/Pastor.

The selected candidate is reviewed by Presbytery.
|

Session is asked to call a congregational meeting.
|
| |
The congregation hears the PNC recommendation and votes to issue a call.
